Landon is an excellent example of the well-rounded young man who maintains interests in Scouting, church, school, and athletics.  He is a Scout who has had a very focused, steady, and purposeful Scouting career.

He has served as an Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader of the Moose Patrol, Troop Scribe, Webmaster, and an instructor in the troop’s Leadership Corps.

In recognition of his camping ability, Landon was selected by his fellow campers to the Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s national society for Scout honor campers.

He has also completed the Junior Leader Training Course, served as a Den Chief for Pack 344, and has earned the honor camper recognition.

In 1999 Landon was part of Troop Seventeen’s ten-Scout contingent to Philmont — BSA’s national high-adventure camp in the mountains of New Mexico.

Landon has also earned the God & Country Award, Scouting’s religious recognition for Scouts of the Protestant faith.

Landon’s Eagle service project consisted of numerous projects involving eight interactive Bible scenes, mobiles, and displays for the three children’s (grades 1-6) Sunday school rooms at the Ladue Presbyterian Church. This included design, construction, and maintenance.

Landon sings in the church youth choir, performs as a bell ringer, and he also serves as an acolyte for the minister.

A good athlete, Landon has played a variety of sports — he plays soccer and basketball for his high school and shortstop and outfield in the Ladue summer baseball league. His main continuing interest, though, is tennis and he competes in that sport for the Ladue Racquet Club.

Landon is also an excellent swimmer for the Ladue Racquet Club and in 1999, won the Palisade Park half-mile swim competition in Lake Michigan.

He has played lead roles in several of his church plays and has participated in dramas at school.

Outside of Scouting, one of Landon’s major interests is computers.  He is skilled with them and wants to utilize his skills and expertise in a life-long career. He is also interested in Shelby GT automobiles. Additionally, Landon has built a couple of excellent tree houses.

While an “A” student at Ladue Junior High, he was a member of the National Junior Honor Society. Landon currently attends Westminster Christian Academy where he is an “A” student there also.
