Daniel joined Troop 17 February 2011. He joined us from Pack 344 and had steadily advanced through his ranks. He achieved the First Class rank within 18 months.

Daniel’s first opportunity for leadership came when he served as the Troop Scribe where he entered scouts’ records, kept track of the troop library, and maintained the office in neat order. Daniel became Patrol Leader of the Hawk Patrol – from July 2013 thru October 2015 during which time Daniel and his patrol earned the Honor Patrol award.

After his patrol leadership, Daniel’s next responsibility had him serving as the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader for a year before taking over as Seventeen’s Senior Patrol Leader, the troop’s number one boy leadership position.  He served in that position for 12 months. His last position of leadership was Junior Assistant Scoutmaster.

Daniel has also been an active participant in the troop’s outdoor program — including campouts, camporees, hikes, and years at summer camp.  In 2015 and 2017, Daniel was part of Troop Seventeen’s contingent to Philmont — BSA’s national high-adventure camp in the mountains of New Mexico.   In recognition of his camping abilities and leadership skills, Daniel was elected by his fellow campers in 2013 to the Order of the Arrow, scouting’s national society for Scout honor campers.  He achieved his OA Brotherhood Honor in 2015.

Daniel was the Honor Camper in 2012. This is Troop 17’s highest scouting honor.

For his Eagle service project, Daniel planned and supervised the construction of a pergola behind Salem United Methodist Church.  This project involved leadership of scouts and completion of the project in a timely manner.

While Daniel had a memorable and successful scouting career, he was also active outside of scouting. He graduated from Ladue High School in 2018. He was on the Varsity Golf Team for four years and was Team Captain his senior year. Daniel played French horn in Symphonic Band and was his Junior Class Secretary. Daniel was a counsellor at Camp Pegasus, MICDS summer day camp for children and was in junior golf tournaments.

Academically, Daniel was on the Honor Roll every year at Ladue High. He is currently attending University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign studying Business.
