Known as Owen, in 2015 he transferred to Troop 17 from Pack 344. He achieved his First Class Rank in about one year. Owen’s leadership history includes Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol, and Senior Patrol Leader. In his first year as Patrol Leader, he led his patrol to third place at a District Camporee. Not satisfied with that, he subsequently led his patrol to a first place finish in his second and third camporee. Owen is a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow. This is an honorary scouting organization to recognize those Scout campers who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives, to develop and maintain camping traditions and spirit, to promote Scout camping, and to crystallize the Scouting ideal of helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others. Owen went to National Youth Leadership Training. The last day there was a horrible storm and they were stuck in the tree houses in S Bar F. He was able to show off all his knot tying skills to tie up the tarps to keep everyone dry. Owen’s Eagle project was to build boxes to deposit damaged American Flags. He built three boxes, one of which he placed at Schnarr’s Hardware store on Clayton Road in Ladue. He placed the other boxes at two VFW posts.
Owen was a student at Ladue. He attended the Ladue early Childhood Center, Reed Elementary, Ladue Middle School, and Horton Watkins High School. In high school, he wrestled for three years and was on the St. Louis County Rowing Club for four years. He competed in state level races and his team came in first his final year.
He is currently studying business at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO.
